I can confirm that as of today Sage 50 will not work with Outlook 2016. We have two machines, one with win 7 pro, and the other has win 10 pro, both with MS Office 2016. The 'e-mail' function in Sage 50 returns a -30 error on both machines. Sage has been notified.

If the key isn't there, even if MAPI is perfectly ready to go, Sage 50 can't 'see' it.

On 64 bit OS Sage 50 uses MAPI32.DLL in c: windows sysWOW64 to send email through Outlook, and it definitely works with Outlook 2016. But there's no other option unless you fix it yourself. Sage does not support and will not provide any solution to fixing this because they don't want to spend the money on updates to that PDF driver to give it to you. Also, if they tell you to go use a free PDF printer, I'm sure there will be contractual issues with that along with Terms of Use violations. To reproduce and isolate this, I had the print spooler window open. Had a quote open, and when I clicked the 'Send' button peachtree, only THEN was it sending to the Print spooler to have the PDF created. And then when it disappeared from the 'what's printing' window, Outlook opened with the document attached. If this were an actual Outlook problem, then the document would still hit the printing window (aka spool) and would fail only AFTER showing up there and disappearing.

Windows vista ultimate iso 64 bit. This is NOT the case! The document DOES NOT SHOW UP after the first attempt succeeded without restarting Peachtree. When you restart Sage/Peachtree, the spooler has been released and will allow another document to be sent to email because it will grab that spooler driver again.

The REAL SOLUTION (which has worked for me now on 3 computers with Windows 7 and Office 2016) is to just get a different, FREE PDF printer. I used Bullzip PDF printer. Free version, they send you an email link now to download it. I installed the PDF printer and then changed the Sage 50 E-Mail Writer to use the Bullzip PDF Printer as the driver. EVERYTHING WORKS!

Paul, This makes total sense and I have verified what Paul has said regarding the spooler. However this does not work for me. Windows 7, sage 2016, and outlook 2016. I never get an error but I do get PDF files that are just 4kb and unreadable. So its not working for me. I also tried CutePDF but no go, I get the same results.

Hopefully at some point I can figure it out. Just absolutely crazy that SAGE does not give a solution! My customer is angry at me and I can't even do anything about it. SAGE is unwilling to provide any answer but to tell my customer to buy a different version of office.

That is not a solution. I had this exact issue with Office 365 (2013 Outlook). As it turned out, any 64 bit version of Office doesn't play well with Sage 50 Accounting.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the 32bit version made it go back to working as it did before the 'upgrade' to 365. It was super frustrating because others in my office worked fine. It turned out they'd been installed with the 32bit version from the start and only my computer was set up 'incorrectly'. I'd certainly think it's worth trying one machine to see if going 32bit makes your problems disappear. I agree with all of you, Sage is incompetent. Any other suggested accounting software out there?

Our office upgraded to Windows 10 and suddenly I could not email invoices to clients. I was able to print invoices but not email them. This is one of the features that worked well then stopped working. Our IT team spent a lot of time but could not come up with a solution. I finally called Sage and was told, sorry, Sage Accounting will not print to an email with Windows 10 installed. I am no tech guru but after searching and playing around I then found the I was able to send invoice email via 'One Note.'

In print preview, I chose One Note and watched it work. How can Sage not have a fix for this issue and how are they unprepared? No wonder there is so much anger in the world. It's not like the software changed overnight.

Found a solution to the issue of Sage 50 (we run 2017) and Office 2016 (32-bit). I noticed that people posted about other PDF creators with no success. Seems that the Amyuni Document Creator 550 driver installed by Sage runs as a 64-bit driver. This creates an issue speaking to the 32-bit Office. I fixed it using an update found through the Microsoft Update Catalog.
